| | With over 18 years experience in hair extensions, Shawnee has developed several of her own hair extension methods:
- Braid Extension - the oldest and most widely used hair extension method. Tracks are positioned by forming a track foundation with cornrow braids that are close to the scalp and attaching extension hair to the cornrow foundation. The human hair is then attached and the desired style is created as discussed in the consultation. The recommended cycle for this method is 8-10 weeks for optimal results.
- French Flair - an innovative hair extension method that is sewn in quickly and lays very flat on the scalp, virtually undetectable; laying a track foundation with hair and thread that is a series of knots that are very easily removed professionally, leaving the hair as natural as possible. Each track is positioned to follow the client's natural hair pattern. The track is laid very close to the scalp to support the extension hair and attached with thread and the client's hair covers each track. This method results in long lasting great looking extensions. The recommended cycle for this method is 8-10 weeks for optimal results.
- Keratin - a new and highly used method that looks amazing when properly applied. Extension hair is applied strand by strand with a hot or cold form of adhesive that is a keratin based product or other natural based component that is comparable to the natural composition of hair and nails. Each strand applied consists of 20-30 individual human hairs that will compose a strand. The recommended life cycle for this method is 3-5 months.
- MicroLinks - a new and popularly used method used for fine and silky straight hair, extremely over processed hair and hair that has been unsuccessful in holding adhesive or keratin products in other extension methods. Tiny microlinks that are composed of polymer materials or non-magnetic flexible metal nickel tubing that does not rust are applied in a similar strand to strand method that is similar to your hair color. The recommended cycle for this method is 2-4 months.
- Skin Weft - this method is similar to the Bond method (glue adhesive), a temporary method that consist of a two sided tape that is used to attach extension hair to the individual roots of the hair. Skin Weft is great for a night out on the town, photo shoots or a temporary look that is affordable and fun. This method is great for adding density to fine or thinning hair and adding non-chemical highlights or lowlights as well. The recommended cycle for this method is 1 day up to 1 week.
